How to play
Red Gloops chase you and cost one heart per touch (then ~1s of invulnerability).
Gloops take 3 sword hits. Their health bar appears when hurt or targeted.
Spitters (squat pods with a long snout) swell and glow, then spit a green glob at where you stand. Step sideways, or hold the shield in front of you. Rush them and they stop firing. Rammerhogs (armoured boars) paw the ground and paint a red lane; step out of it. Their armour turns frontal sword hits away: hit them from the side or behind, or right after a charge when they are dazed (double damage). A shield stops a charge dead.
Coins: monsters drop them (more for tougher ones, and for the Gravel King). Walk close and they fly to you.
Villages: a new one every few hundred steps, styled by biome; gold dots on the minimap (markers on its rim for far ones). Monsters stay out. Sleep in the Inn bed (E) to heal, skip the night and set your respawn point. Shopkeepers sell meals and Heart Fruit, healers mend you for coins, elders give one quest at a time (hunt monsters or carry a letter to another village).
Danger grows with distance: past about 260 units from the start, monsters have more health and hit harder; from about 1,000 units out they have about 1.6x the health and hit one half-heart harder. A killed monster stays dead for 15 minutes of play.
Pink gems dropped by Gloops restore a heart. Reach 0 hearts and you respawn in the centre.
Visit the village north of the start. Walk up to a villager and talk; Healer Pip restores your hearts. Gloops stay out of the village.
Gate to the Hollow Keep dungeon: southeast of the start. Inside it is dark: clear the west room to reveal a Small Key, unlock the north door, open the chest in the east room for a Heart Container. Beyond the north door, push the heavy block onto the pressure plate to reveal the Boss Key and open the final door. Walk back to the glowing exit to leave.
Boss: beyond the boss door waits the Gravel King. Watch the red circles on the floor: they mark where he slams or where rocks fall, so step out of them. Hit him while he recovers from a slam for double damage. At half health he gets angrier and calls Gloops. If you fall, he resets.
Ocarina: talk to Merchant Tulla in the village. She gives you an ocarina and teaches the Mist Lullaby: listen, then repeat the notes. Songs are played with the note buttons; a learned song triggers when you play its notes in order. Some old walls listen to music... Learned songs are listed in the ocarina panel.
A full day lasts 5 minutes. Lamps and windows glow at night.
Shield: hold it up to block hits from the front completely (the attacker gets shoved back). You walk slower and can't swing while it's raised. Shockwaves and falling rocks still hurt, but only half as much.
Targeting makes you strafe around the enemy and keeps the camera locked on it.

Changelog
v29 small position readout (x, z) next to the version, for reporting where you are
v28 more villages, and closer: the nearest ones are now roughly 250-450 steps from the start (was 550+)
v27 gear tiers: swords (Iron, Steel, Mistforged) hit harder and armour (Leather, Chain, Mistplate) softens hits; sold in village shops, next tier only
v26 villages everywhere (styled by biome): inn beds set your respawn point, shopkeepers, healers, elders with quests, minimap markers for villages
v25 monsters get tougher with distance from the start (more health, bigger, harder hits, nastier mixes), drop coins, and stay dead for a while
v24 the world is endless: land, biomes, props and monsters generate from a seed as you walk and are freed behind you. Seven biomes: meadow, forest, snow, crags, desert, swamp, moor
v23 new monsters: Spitters (ranged) and Rammerhogs (armoured chargers), with clear warnings and a bot fairness test
v22 the world is 4x bigger: Mistvale Meadow, Ashen Crags (SE), Frostpine (N), Mistmoor (W) with dirt paths, region scenery, tougher monsters farther out, a minimap and region names
v21 under the hood: reusable dungeon builder (groundwork for new dungeons); enemies no longer chase through walls; saves upgraded (old saves still load)
v20 mouse capture (look by moving the mouse), left click swings the sword, right click holds the shield
v19 deeper, softer sword whoosh; audio limiter so loud moments no longer distort
v18 sword swing is now a soft whoosh; mobile layout pass (no overlapping controls, safe areas, scalable stick, controls hide during dialogs, adaptive resolution)
v17 sound effects and generative music (fields, dungeon, boss), mute button, automatic saving
v16 sword swing back to the original horizontal sweep, still held in the hand (no more jump to the top)
v15 shield now faces forward when raised (decorated side out)
v14 shield: fixed flickering overlapping faces and clipping into the arm

v12 Gravel King made fairer: slower, smaller slam and rock telegraphs, longer opening after a slam. Now covered by an automated bot test

v10 boss fight: the Gravel King (2 phases, slam & rock-rain attacks, health bar, heart container reward)
v9 found the white-screen cause: the key reveal switched on an extra light, forcing a shader rebuild that some phones can't handle. Replaced with a glow effect, fewer lights overall
v8 fix attempt for the screen going blank: lighter graphics on phones, crash message instead of a blank screen, position safety net
v7 block & pressure-plate puzzle, Boss Key, boss door, empty arena beyond
